We had our wedding at Chaucer Barn over a weekend in September and it was honestly the most perfect venue.

Aside from all the wonderful help we got from Jenna, Emily and the whole team, the grounds and the facilities were absolutely faultless. We had family stay in the woodland lodges and they loved it. The rooms in the barn itself were gorgeous and so comfortable.

Chaucer Barn would be perfect for everything from weddings to weekends away with a big family or group of friends. Cannot recommend this place enough!

My husband and I got married at Chaucer Barn in July 2019. It is an amazing venue, and just as important it has an absolutely fantastic team behind the scenes that do whatever it takes to make sure your day runs smoothly. The barn is stunning, and all rooms and amenities are of a very high standard so it is a lovely space to have a weekend, we particularly enjoyed being able to have both of our immediate families on site for the whole weekend.

The grounds were what really stood out to us when we were venue-hunting.. meadows, fields, wildflowers, a formal lawn, and even space to camp! There is so much versatility and so many beautiful places you can hold a ceremony and different parts of the day.

The team were just fabulous, giving excellent advice all the way through the long journey of planning a wedding, and Jenna in particular was an absolute star both in the run up and in being an oasis of calm and making sure everything was just as we wanted it on the day.

Having total flexibility over the suppliers we wanted to use was also a real advantage, and meant we could personalise every aspect of the day.

We could not recommend the venue and the team more highly!!

Booked Chaucer Barn for our wedding and it was the perfect venue. Lucky enough to be able to have everything outdoors and the combination of the beautiful woodland, meadows, lawns and gardens made a spectacular setting for a perfect day. Superb support from manager Jenna and team in making sure everything went perfectly and we could just relax and enjoy the wonderful surroundings.

Where do we begin? From the moment we looked around Chaucer Barn, we knew we were in for a treat! Hosting our Wedding in the most beautiful venue in North Norfolk was an absolute privileged! The grounds are the most stunning I have ever seen, carefully looked after by a truly amazing team, they should be so very proud of their efforts in maintaining such beauty! Not an easy job during this scorcher of a summer!

Andrew was an absolute superstar, going the extra mile to help us with tools and set up, a really lovely guy whose energy was a real delight to be around, someone we would love to meet again and share our gratitude with, there were things Andrew did, from the kindness of his heart that were not part of his job description! What a man!

For those of you who are thinking of booking your wedding at Chaucer Barn, you will not be disappointed, as Jenna is the most amazing organiser we have ever met, and we are pretty organised people ourselves! Remember, not every venue will have someone as decicated, kind, thoughtful and so dam on it as Jenna is.
Jenna was our very own wonder woman, her professionalism, attention to detail, patience, and calm influence made our wedding the most perfect day! No job was too big and she always did her upmost to support us not just on the day of our wedding but leading up to it. She was always, and I mean always on the end phone, message, email to help with the organisation of things.The day would not have been the most perfect day of our lives if it wasn’t for Jenna and the very, very hard working team at Chaucer Barn.

We had a live band at the wedding and the team at Chaucer Barn supported with the set up and I have to say, the band were amazing and had no trouble with their sound equipment and never, ever did the music cut out and it was plenty loud enough. Any louder and you would have had a cracking headache. We danced the night away to our hearts content and the band were very happy with the way things were run.

The barn itself is perfect, the team work so hard to keep it pristine which can’t be easy after a very fast turn around, but they do it and you know it is all done with love! We wish we could have stayed longer and our hope is to return in the future for a family holiday and reminisce on the best day of our life, helped by the most gorgeous souls who work at Chaucer Barn.

Dreams turned into reality for the wedding of our son and daughter in law. The staff were outstanding and were always on hand to make sure everything went smoothly and to plan, nothing was too much trouble for them. The barn was ideal in every way location, facilities, gardens, rooms and surrounding landscape. Even the weather played it’s part. We can not recommend this place strongly enough.

My husband and I hired the barn for our wedding back in May. This was the most perfect venue and we fell in love as soon as we saw it.

We hired the barn for three nights so that we could have family/friends over for a meal the night before the wedding and then invited everyone back the day after the wedding for a BBQ and some games. This was one of the reasons we chose it as it just meant the celebrations could last that bit longer and it was great that so many guests could stay (18)!

We loved the number of places in which you could have your ceremony, and we loved how it felt like you were having your wedding in your home! We had our ceremony on the beautiful lawn and we were so lucky with the weather – it was a gorgeous place to get married. The party/reception was held in the banqueting hall which when you look round might seem strange as it is the dining area but trust me it works! This was one thing a lot of our guests commented that they liked, as it was so relaxed and made them feel really comfortable!

It was wonderful how you could bring your own suppliers into the venue as this meant you could really do everything your own way with no restrictions.

Jenna was so amazing in the lead up to the day and on the day itself, so calm and offered great advice. She is a real asset to the team at Chaucer Barn!

Would recommend this venue in a heartbeat for a wedding, and also for a short/long stay as it is so beautiful. The grounds are incredible but the style of the barn is also superb! It is not far from the stunning North Norfolk coast so you can explore if you wish to. We hope to return one day for an anniversary to remember the special day we had here.

Chaucer barn was the venue for our wedding a few weeks ago. We fell in love with the place after our first visit- the grounds are stunning and the barn is beautifully decorated too. The weather wasn’t on our side on the day, so our ceremony was in the banqueting hall instead of the woodland, but in a way I’m so glad it ended up being inside as it felt so intimate in the banqueting hall. We made the max possible use of the barn over the weekend, by having a formal ceremony and meal for family on the first day and then inviting our friends for a big party day on the second day. This worked really well for us and meant that we could stretch out the celebrations!

Jenna and the team at chaucer were amazing! So many other venues we visited had restrictions about what you could do, where and when. At chaucer barn, they helped us turn every idea we had into reality. The set up is the perfect balance of having the flexibility to do almost anything you like to make your day special and unique whilst also having the team there to support you, make sure everything runs smoothly, help coordinate with suppliers, move furniture on the day etc.

We had the best weekend and cannot thank the team at chaucer barn enough!

We made a list of wedding venues to visit and went to Chaucer Barn first – after seeing the barn we fell in love with it immediately and never made it to the rest! We definitely made the right choice.

The staff at the barn were excellent and helped from initial ideas through to the organisation on the day itself . The possibility of staying the night before and two nights after the wedding made for a very relaxed few days. We had 14 family and friends staying at the barn allowing us to have a meal together the night before the wedding and a brilliant day of outdoor games (while finishing left over wine + prosecco!) the day after.

The flexibility of the venue allows you to put your own ideas into practice so you can go as simple or elaborate as you like, we chose to keep it relatively small so we could fully utilise the barn’s internal space for the wedding day. The range of rooms allowed people to relax in the quiet or join the party as they pleased which allowed us to cater for everyone.

Overall it made for a brilliant experience that we will never forget in stunning surroundings; we are already thinking of finding an excuse to book the barn again for a family gathering!

Just came back from an amazing weekend at Chaucer Barn and its was absolutely fantastic, we are definitely going back! the house has all the amenities you need, and they even supplied coal for us to cook our food on the BBQ although it was a bit too cold to eat outside this weekend. We were a 10 min drive to Cromer and the small village of Holt is even nearer, some good pubs in the areas, (short drive away), the local cabbie “Bernie” was kind enough to collect our Indian takeaway for us on Friday night which was lovely, The house is perfect for a large group get away, all the rooms are lovely and the house is spotlessly clean, there is a large Aga for cooking, great sound systems/TV’s, perfect location and only 2.5/3 hours away from Essex. we loved it and my friends who came with us haven’t stopped talking about. so Chaucer Barn see you again soon and thank you so much for a great weekend.
